Located in the heart of Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, Lucky Chinese Restaurant offers a straightforward, no-frills spot for those craving classic Chinese takeout or a relaxed dine-in experience. This family-owned restaurant has quietly settled into the local routine, appealing to regulars who appreciate solid portions and familiar flavors without fuss.

The atmosphere inside is simple and clean, with a dining area that feels functional rather than trendy, making it a practical choice for weekday lunches or casual dinners. You won’t find modern décor or artisan twists here; instead, the focus is on delivering food that arrives hot and satisfying, often drawing neighborhood families and workers looking for a dependable meal that hits the spot.

Menu highlights revolve around staples like the Chicken Fried Rice, Beef Chow Fun (乾炒牛河), and Lucky Chow Mein, which consistently show up as favorites. There’s a solid variety of rice and noodle dishes with beef, chicken, and prawns, alongside comforting extras like Hot and Sour Soup and Wonton in Special Hot Sauce that add warmth and a bit of tang to the meal. For those who enjoy a little spice or richer flavors, options such as Curry Chicken over Rice or Black Bean Sauce Chicken provide straightforward yet flavorful choices.

People tend to come here for familiar flavors that remind them of home cooking but with restaurant efficiency. Portions are generous, making this a practical stop for groups or families who appreciate stretching their dollar while getting hearty plates. The staff are known locally for their friendly and welcoming attitude, which adds a layer of ease for repeat visitors and newcomers alike — the kind of place where smiles and quick service blend comfortably.

Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch during the workweek or settling in for a quiet dinner in a neighborhood spot that feels like a pause from the city’s bustle, Lucky Chinese Restaurant fits the bill. It’s especially suited to those who value consistency, straightforward Chinese-American dishes, and a casual environment without the pretension.

This is an amazing neighborhood spot for Chinese food! The staff were welcoming and pleasant and the food came out hot and fresh. I've been looking for a place with great Beef Chow Foon and they did not disappoint, the noodles were soft and fresh and the beef was super tender. Egg rolls are also a must.

This place is so good and you can’t go wrong with anything you order. And the portions are amazing especially for the price. I love their hot and sour soup you get with your order, to die for. I’ve been coming to this family owned restaurant for a decade at least. The service you get makes you feel at home and part of the family when you come here. And their eating area is spotless. I always support small businesses be this one takes the cake and holds a special place in my heart that is well deserved.

I’m so lucky to have discovered this spot! The sweet and sour chicken was unbelievably fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve had—can’t wait to come back! The staff are so kind and friendly!

Lucky Chinese is not an establishment that you’re apt to come across but if you’re willing, their offerings are certainly worth the effort. Neither “Szechuan” nor “Cantonese”, you will find a dish that appeals to you. Despite a modest menu, ASK for what YOU enjoy, and be guided to the equivalent offering. Do be aware, and spice (hot) is subjective, but a “2 star” rating here might be closer to a 3 or even a 4. Of particular interest, and if only to sample the fare, a soup is included with an “entree”. Normally, to try a soup, a diner would have to ORDER the same. The portions were generous, and a request for Shrimp Chow Fun (not on the menu) was readily accommodated. That dish was bursting with flavor and reason enough to return. A hearty full meal for two was purchased for less than HALF of what other establishments would have charged but your experience may vary, depending on your order. There is limited parking, ample seating (take-away seemed the preferred choice), and again, the location is obscure (use your favorite GPS). If you are a West Seattle resident, this may be the very establishment we have all been waiting for. Bon Appetit!!

New location, but it's still the same great family restaurant. They have a fantastic variety to choose from. My favorite is the pork fried rice that comes with the hot spicy soup. The vietnamese coffee is great for a quick pick me up. Very friendly staff/family.
